Community consultation on plans to rejuvenate West Circular Quay
The Authority is hosting a community consultation week about its plans to upgrade First Fleet Park and will be seeking public feedback on the proposal, which is part of a wider project to revitalise West Circular Quay. This community consultation follows public exhibition of a project application for the revitalisation of the park to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure in late 2010.
The project information will be on display from Monday 5 September to Sunday 11 September, 9 am to 5 pm at Shop 4, 27 Nurses Walk, adjacent to the George Street level entrance to Foreshore House.
Two information sessions will be held at the shopfront at which the public will be able to view the information and ask the design team questions about the project. These will be held on:
The community will be able to provide feedback either at the shopfront or online. More information is available on the Authority's website. I encourage you to drop by the project display at Nurses Walk, discuss the proposals and have your say.
Expressions of interest invited to participate in Markets by Moonlight
This year Markets by Moonlight will take place on Friday evenings in November and December and will feature diverse stalls, live music, intimate performance and pop-up theatre and alfresco dining in The Rocks. Based on feedback, the event is returning to a short, sharp and lively format to maximise the visitor experience and increase stallholder and tenant benefits from the event.
The entertainment program will take place throughout The Rocks to encourage an exploration of the wider precinct. Market stalls will be an integral part of the event with up to 60 stalls per night, comprising 50 variety stalls and 10 food stalls, located along Playfair Street and Jack Mundey Place. The Rocks Square will be transformed into an intimate licensed lounge space with a small stage featuring live music and an information booth for visitors.
Expressions of interest (EOI) to participate in Markets by Moonlight are now invited from tenants to be market stallholders and operate a licensed lounge. EOIs must be submitted by Wednesday 7 September. To request an information pack, email sandra.smith@shfa.nsw.gov.au.

SUSTAINABILITY NEWS
Switch on to CitySwitch and save on electricity bills
CitySwitch Green Office is a national tenant energy efficiency program that provides office tenants with practical, achievable actions to improve their energy efficiency and reduce their environmental impact. The impact can be substantial as tenants can influence up to 50 per cent of the energy use in office buildings. Even better, CitySwitch is a free, voluntary and very simple program. The only cost associated with the program is for a NABERS energy efficiency rating for your office. In Sydney, CitySwitch is led by the City of Sydney and to date, 114 tenancies, including the Authority, have committed to the partnership.
Once signed up to the program, a dedicated free resource-the CitySwitch program manager-is available for signatories to discuss barriers, monitor progress, provide assistance, offer links to networks and resources and also provide a structured mentoring program. In addition, CitySwitch runs Cafe Series talks, sends e-bulletins, and offers a large knowledge bank through its intranet.

This month, as part of the project, the Authority is launching a partnership with Lismore City Council's 'Art in the Heart' program, which offers two-week residencies to four artists from Northern Rivers in NSW.
