For the first time in more than 20 years, the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) will exercise its right to the freedom of entry to the City of Sydney.
After a number of ceremonial activities, the parade of officers and sailors will commence at 10 am from The Rocks and march along George Street, past Sydney Town Hall, turn right into Liverpool Street and then finish in the Sussex/Kent and Liverpool Streets area.
It will also be the first time the Queen's Colour has been paraded by the RAN in Sydney since it was presented by the Governor General in 1989.
This rare event will include up to 5000 RAN personnel and navel cadets—more than one third of the RAN—and will constitute the largest parade of naval personnel since the Second World War Victory in Japan Day Parade in 1945.
Saturday 14 March at 10am – 11.30am
FREE
Commencing at The Rocks and concluding in Liverpool St, City
