FORT DENISON HERITAGE TOUR

Join a half hour tour of Australia's only Martello Tower with a National Parks and Wildlife Service guide. Explore its fascinating history, enjoy a magnificent 360 degree view of Sydney and its harbour and join in as Fort Denison celebrates its 150th anniversary.

Discover the beauty and diversity of Chowder Bay and find out why leading universities have joined with government agencies to create a research centre specialising in the marine ecosystems of ports and harbours. Chowder Bay is considered by scientists as one of the world's richest marine environments. Come along and see the scientists in action on a fun and educational day with seminars, displays and activities for all ages.

SEA RAFTING SESSIONS FOR KIDS – FREE

Venture out into the harbour on a sea raft. Learn how to paddle forwards, backwards and do 360 degree turns while viewing picturesque Chowder Bay from the water. (Suitable for children 8 years and over).

SHARK ISLAND PICNIC DAY

Location: Shark Island, Sydney Harbour

MEET THE LOCAL MARINE LIFE

Cost: Standard Greenwich Baths entry fee – $3.20 adult, $2.10 child

Learn about the magical marine life found on our doorstep and find out how to care for it so that it can be enjoyed by future generations. The Australian Marine Conservation Society, a not-for-profit charity, works to create marine national parks, save ocean wildlife and make fisheries sustainable.

TRY YACHTING DAY

Location: Middle Harbour Yacht Club, Spit Bridge, Mosman. Meet at Flying Fish office on the water front.

Learn to sail on Sydney Harbour. Experience the thrill of yachting in a safe and friendly environment. This course introduces newcomers to the wonderful sport of sailing on board one of the Flying Fish Beneteau 40.7 yachts. By the end of the course you will have experienced basic crew work, as well as helming on different points of sail.

PARSLEY BAY CENTENARY CELEBRATION - FREE

7TH ANNUAL SYDNEY HARBOUR SWIM CLASSIC

Time: 1k course 9.30am and 2k course 10.10am
Cost: $40 per person
Location: Man O’ War Steps, Royal Botanic Gardens

Two courses covering 1km and 2km starting from the Man O’ War Steps towards Fort Denison into farm cove and return. The race celebrates Sydney’s commitment to a clean harbour. Swim the classic or join the cheering crowd.

JAMES CRAIG SAILING ADVENTURE - CANCELLED

The sail has been cancelled due to mechanical problems. However, the James Craig will be open for inspection from 10am - 4pm. Family tickets $20 and available for purchase on the gangway.

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY - FREE

Become a volunteer for the day and help clean up Sydney Harbour. Clean Up Australia Day is a fun and easy event and everyone can take part. Just pick your site and bring along gloves, sturdy shoes, sunglasses and sun protection.
