FORT DENISON HERITAGE TOUR

Time: 12.15pm and 2.30pm (Sat 1 to Sun 9 March)
Cost: $27 adult, $20 child, $24 concession (includes ferry transfer and guided tour)
Location: Fort Denison, Sydney Harbour National Park

Join a half hour tour of Australia's only Martello Tower with a National Parks and Wildlife Service guide. Explore its fascinating history, enjoy a magnificent 360 degree view of Sydney and its harbour and join in as Fort Denison celebrates its 150th anniversary.

2008 CLASSIC & WOODEN BOAT FESTIVAL

Time: 9.30am – 5pm (8 and 9 March)
Cost: $18 adult, $9 child, $40 family (2 adults and 2 children)
Location: Australian National Maritime Museum, 2 Murray Street, Darling Harbour

Sydney's classic harbourside festival celebrates all things nautical with displays of maritime craft and more than 100 boats from graceful yachts to streamlined speed boats.

KIDS AFLOAT - FREE

Time: 10am – 3.30pm (departs every 30 minutes for a 75-minute cruise)
Cost: FREE for all children plus one parent or guardian if associated with a charity; $5 for all other adults
Location: Departs from King Street Wharves 8 & 9, King Street Wharf

Support Sydney kids by taking a child on a FREE Sydney Harbour cruise. The majority of the money raised will be shared between nine major children’s charities: The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Variety the Children’s Charity, Friends of STARTTS, Mayumari, Telstra Child Flight, Royal Fare West Childrens’ Health Scheme, Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and Wesley Mission.

All children must travel with an adult.

Additional information: Vessels will depart every 30 minutes for a 75 minute cruise.

SYDNEY SUPERBOAT GRAND PRIX - FREE

Time: 10am– 3pm (Saturday 8 March), 10am– 4pm (Sunday 9 March)
Cost: FREE
Location: Pit area, Wharf 3, White Bay

This Australian Offshore Superboat Series event will take place on Sydney Harbour for the first time with more than 20 boats. Using the natural amphitheatre of the harbour, the Superboat Grand Prix will showcase the world’s most exciting water sport.

GUIDED SNORKEL TOUR AT FAIRLIGHT BEACH

Time: 10am, 11am, 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm (1, 2, 8 and 9 March)
Cost: $35 per person
Location: Fairlight Beach, Esplanade Park, off Fairlight Crescent, North Harbour (Meet at Fairlight Pool - east end of beach)

Explore Fairlight Bay with a mask and fins and discover many of the fascinating marine creatures, including rays, octopuses and blue groupers, which flourish in the safety of Sydney Harbour.

SUPERBOAT GP EXPO – FREE

Time: From noon – 8pm (8 & 9 March). Presentation ceremonies held at 5pm.

Location: Cockle Bay , Darling Harbour

Enjoy the first Sydney Superboat GP Expo at Darling Harbour featuring the Class One Powerboats, Supercats and Thundercats up close. The first Sydney Superboat Grand Prix will be held on Sydney Harbour, as the Superboats race at up to 220km/hour from Fort Denison to Shark Island and back.*. There'll also be fashion parades, a boat show, the Thundercat Celebrity Challenge and an evening concert at Darling Harbour (the celebrity challenge and concert is on Saturday only) as well as award presentations to the race-winners.

*The Superboat Grand Prix takes place on Sydney Harbour on Saturday for the Bayliner Pole Position "Shoot Out" at 2pm and the Superboat Grand Prix race on Sunday from 3pm. There are many places to watch the races, and you should view the website to see which location suits you best.

AUDI SYDNEY HARBOUR OFFSHORE YACHT RACE

Time: Starts 6pm Friday 7 March and a separate Sydney Newcastle race starts at 9am Saturday 8 March and finishes at Newcastle
Cost: FREE
Location: Best vantage point for spectators is Nielsen Park (via Vaucluse Road
Double Bay)

The inaugural 213 nautical mile race will bring some of Australia 's best known grand prix ocean races to the start line off Nielsen Park in Sydney Harbour before the fleet heads to a laid mark near Crowdy Head on the NSW mid north coast then back to the finish line at Newcastle .
